Fall River, Massachusetts 

On June 24, 2018, following Sunday liturgy, Monsignor James Root and St. Anthony of the Desert Parish congregation awarded monetary scholarships to four graduating high school seniors (each received $500.). Scholarships have been granted for 16 years in memory of Chorbishop Norman J. Ferris, Mary Ann Hallal and Loretta George.

Recipients ( left to right): Zachary Martin, son of Alexander and Shannon Martin, received the Chorbishop Norman Ferris Memorial Scholarship. Zachary will be attending Wentworth Institute of Technology and majoring in Mechanical Engineering. Mallory Forcier, daughter of Gerard and Giselle Forcier, received the Marry Ann Hallal Memorial Scholarship. Mallory will be attending Bridgewater State University and majoring in Special Education. Patrick Crowley, son of Brian and Kerry Crowley, received the Loretta George Memorial Scholarship. Patrick will be attending UMASS Boston majoring in Economics and Middle Eastern Studies. Joseph Camara, son of Joseph and Lila Camara. Joseph will be attending Wentworth Institute of Technology and majoring in Electromechanical Engineering.
