Funeral of Bishop Roland Abou Jaoudeh

Bishop Roland Abou Jaoudeh passed away on Thursday May 02, 2019 at the age of 89 at Notre Dame des Secours hospital in Jbeil, where he had been in a coma for six months.

Born in Jal el-Dib on September 07 1930. On April 25 1959, Roland Abou Jaoudeh was ordained priest and appointed bishop in 1975 and elected patriarchal vicar, occupying this position throughout the term of Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir. 

The funeral Service was held on May 6, 2019 at the Maronite Patriarchate in Bkerke celebrated by the Maronite Patriarch Bechara Peter Rai and number of bishops and clergy in the presence of the Nuncio. 

After the funeral service the nuncio delivered a message from his Holiness Pope Francis who expressed his condolences to the Patriarch, bishops and clergy of the Maronite church especially to the family of Bishop Roland.
